ROOPLAL GIRDHARIE, also known as, Rooplal “G” has been singing for as long as he can remember and comes from a family of singers and musicians. Initially he started singing bhajans and local classical songs, but has since extended his repertoire to include geets, ghazals classical, semi-classical filmi songs, chutney ,chutney soca ,calypso and soca. Because he performs such a wide variety of music, Rooplal “G” is often referred to as one of the most versatile singers in Trinidad and Tobago.

He has performed locally, regionally and internationally at numerous shows and events across the world. In addition to the multitude of performances on almost a weekly basis in Trinidad, he has thrilled audiences with his unique vocal ability wherever he performs.

His objectives are to develop a genuine appreciation and proficiency in the art of singing among his contemporaries and other interested individuals or groups. He has established himself as a creative, expressive and innovative entertainer with a distinct style of his own that can be universally recognized and accepted.

Rooplal Girdharie is committed to the development of culture in Trinidad and Tobago and sincerely believes that the rich cultural diversity is a true reflection of the warmth and harmony of the beautiful people of Trinidad and Tobago. He is a definite exemplar of his personal motto: Believe in yourself and you can move mountains.

2000 - Winner of the Chutney Soca Monarch Competition

1999 - Performed at and did a version of the theme song of the highly acclaimed World Beat
             Festival

1999 - Winner of the independence classical singing competition of Tnt
